And like any weapon of war, if we hope to push back against the pressing darkness we must raise life with practiced precision…
Again, strike! Again, strike! Once again, strike!
Shared joy resurrects, sending a shock of desire through the hearts of its hearers.
As they receive our living water they find dead desert desires beating with new life for something ancient, for something far off, for something about to be.
Today’s Lenten challenge, our invitation toward life, is to press record on our phones, grab a friend… do whatever it takes to rehearse your story of joyful restoration. Prayerfully practice with a particular person in mind.
reflect > repent > receive > rest > request > REHEARSE…
You break camp, gather the others and set out through the desert toward Jerusalem. Along the way Jesus peppers the group with questions, encouraging them to rehearse their story of rest – how through their reflection, repentance and receiving of the Father they are being restored from restless to resting.
Laughter dominates the discussion as Jesus, like an artist, creatively connects the rest you’ve received and the restless prayers shared on the mountain.
With bright eyes and an expectant heart Jesus asks you to run through your story just one more time…
